After having Open Heart Surgery at the end of July this year I had to start Rehab at Sutherland Hospital. I wasn’t feeling that great about it as am so used to running a busy home & working full time. Until I meet Alison from the rehab centre who did an online meeting with me. She made me feel so at easy, comfortable and was very understanding with how I was feeling.
Next step was for me to come in get some checks done have a look around to see how it all works. Here I meet Belinda and again she was also understanding, very helpful & supportive. She explained that a program will be written to suit my needs. I then began my rehab journey the following month doing 2 days a week for the next 10 weeks.
On my first day I was very nervous but Alison & Belinda were there to support me along with another nurse Kishu. I am now several weeks into my rehab. I have had a few ups and downs along the way with my recovery but these awesome ladies have helped me every step of the way. They also had an online info day which covered everything from medication, how the heart works to eating & exercising. I found this was so helpful & I encourage anyone going through rehab to do this online info course.
I am feeling better every week with the Rehab that I am doing. I believe these 3 ladies that help me each week are an absolute god send and I can’t thank them enough for the support, understanding & encouragement they give me.
