"My stay at Royal Hospital for Women Randwick"

About: Royal Hospital for Women / Macquarie Ward

(as the patient),

It was the best hospital experience I have ever had.  I had an overnight stay in Macquarie Ward . It was the quietest ward I've ever slept in... also the cleanest. I felt the staff were happy and they were happy to help, they were happy to go out of their way to make me comfortable, they were generally happy!

I was offered the regular post op hospital sandwich for a snack and I explained that I wasnt coeliac  but I functioned better without gluten so Nurse Rosie came back with not a glutenfree seemingly non edible sandwich but a delicious colourful salad of pineapple capsicum cucumber beetroot corn and lots of other gorgeous-good-green-things!

They even woke me quietly to take "obs"

Congratulations to the whole happy team... I'm sure I slept through a whole shift of you all.  Thank you to Annie at the front desk.... coordinator of "traffic" in and out!

All of this happening at the frontline leads me to think there is a damn fine leader and mentor of this group! Congratulations to you !

A big thank you also to the staff where my day began at Day Surgery with Dee and Bec and the whole team at The Royal at Randwick.

Dear crocodilepm55

Thank you so much for taking the time, especially after your recent surgery to post your kind feedback regarding your positive experience with the Royal Hospital for Women.

It's very good to hear that you had such great care whilst you were with the Day Surgery Unit and later overnight with the Macquarie Ward.

The teams in both areas work really hard to provide the best care possible and to create the best environment, which is warm, friendly and happy. It's often the seemingly smallest things that can make a positive difference to a patient's overall experience and comfort, like finding you a better meal choice when you needed something different or minimising disturbance whilst maintaining safe care and appreciating your rest time, which is so important following surgery.

Thank you for sharing your feedback as we are always looking to ensure we provide the best possible care and experience for our patients. Your post will be shared with the wonderful Macquarie Ward and Day Surgery Unit staff and all those individuals you have named who I know will really appreciate your lovely feedback.

I wish you all the very best in your recovery.

Kind regards

Maria
