I have had both my parents in hospital for a couple of months and they have been waiting to go in aged care which they are going into soon. One of my parents has Alzheimer’s, dementia and the last few weeks it has advanced.
Recently, my parent escaped hospital. The staff were great, I feel the majority are fantastic, they followed my parent until a family member could get there. My other parent tried to explain to the nurse not to ring me but to ring my sibling as I would be at work and I recall the nurse said that I have to decide what’s more important, my business or my family, the nurse is not a babysitter. I haven’t had much to do with this nurse, and the majority of the nurses I've seen are good. But we are paying around $140 a day and I am often there helping out and doing my parent’s washing. I felt this comment was so rude and uncalled for.
