We were lucky enough to receive a place in the MGP4 for the birth of our first baby. I was very keen to receive the gold standard of care offered by midwifery led care with continuity of care throughout my pregnancy and was thrilled I had the chance to be part of this model of care.
My partner and I cannot speak more highly of the services provided by Lauren, our primary midwife, Holly and the rest of the team that we met on home visits. We were given ample time and space to ask questions and have our concerns addressed. The handover processes were seamless and we never had to repeat ourselves. I feel the team are all very knowledgeable, passionate and are great advocates for their patients.
As a healthcare professional myself I understand how busy it can be and how much is being juggled at a time, we always felt our individual needs were being met, that we were able to make supported decisions and that we were the only patients being treated. The attention to small details was outstanding and truly makes such a difference in the overall experience, we felt very special and cared for.
In addition to MGP4 we had wonderful care from the medical teams who delivered our baby (anaesthetic and surgical teams) and registrar Dr H and Rosie. Maternity ward staff were mostly great; in particular Chiara (not sure of spelling) and Maddy.
I have been singing the praises of MGP to anyone who will listen and could not be more thankful to Lauren and the rest of the team. They will always hold a special place for us in remembering how our boy joined our family. I would recommend MGP to anyone!
