Well I was admitted for a minor Prostate procedure which was successful and a great job by the surgeon. Nursing staff totally wonderful.
As far as my first experience having a MET call because I passed out in the toilet early in the morning then things totally changed. The Medical Registrar attended and said that because I had passed out and hit my head and injured a pre existing neck injuring which was tingling badly said needed a scan of head and neck. Couple of hours later the surgical team doing the rounds under the guidance of a Surgical Registrar decided because no central pain to my neck they were squashing the request for a neck brace and scans. I was mortified.
Didn't seem to care about pain to left side of neck or very bad tingling lol. Got to laugh. They were queried and stated they had made their decision and that was it. I was waiting for them on rounds next morning as nursing staff had said it was not acceptable seeing a fall and being unconscious. The Surgical Registrar was not on rounds next morning and the other Registrar then ordered a soft neck brace as severe tingling still going on and also a hip scan head scan and neck scan.
I had noticed I must have fallen and was a mark on the scar for my recent hip replacement. I was also advised and read in discharge Medical Registrar and not documented the fall or their request. I cant say anything about nursing staff other than very professional and unlike the first Medical Registrar and Surgical Registrar. Seems they don't care if you pass out while a patient. In my opinion, poor effort by these two future Doctors. Beside manner first Surgical Reg totally deplorable in my opinion and I believe couldn't give a toss.
