"Amazing service from the RN’s & ETS"

About: Albany Health Campus Denmark Health Service / Emergency Department St John of God Subiaco Hospital WA Country Health Service / Emergency Telehealth Service

(as the patient),

Recently I presented to Denmark ED with unusual pain in my jaw, tightness in my throat like I had a lump in my throat, pain under my left armpit & in front  of my shoulder blade & headache pressure.

The RN, Lucy, was very caring & thorough, took me through to a bed did an ECG, blood pressure, urine sample & bloods.  She then handed over to RN, Laura, who explained as there was no Dr they dialled through to ETS.

ETS Dr Hakan looked through results & spoke to me, explained my troponin levels that I haven’t had a heart muscle damage & ECG weren’t bad, but there was still something he wasn’t comfortable with to let me go home.

As I have private cover he arranged for me to be transferred to Albany via SJA, then to SJOG Subi via RFDS to see cardiologist Dr Davind.

Got to ward at SJOG 11:45pm & by 12:30pm the next day I’d had echocardiogram, angiogram & a stent put in my Left Anterior Descending Artery that was 85% occluded.

I am very grateful that in a small country town of Denmark the RN’s utilised the technology available - the ETS.

I’m only 50yrs old & this service & expertise of RN’s, ETS Dr Hakan, Dr Fergie at Albany & Dr Davind SJOG has saved my life. I consider myself very very lucky that they all listened.
