About: Royal Perth Hospital / Infectious Diseases Service & Sexual Health Clinic & Hospital in the Home (HITH)

(as a service user),

I attended Royal Perth Hospital Ainslie House 48 Murray Street for an outpatient sexual health appointment. 

The staff I saw were exceptional from front of staff to nursing and doctors. The nurses and doctors showed care and compassion.

I believe the facilities however are not fit for purpose. The waiting area and front desk location does not allow for privacy to be maintained in confirmation of patient details / check-in. 

In addition, the bathroom and specimen collection area is, in my opinion, old and requires prompt upgrade to meet modern standards and improve cleanability. 

I empathise with staff working in this areas due to the apparent challenging infrastructure which with they are using.

I acknowledge that providing patients with adequate privacy and suitable clean facilities is important. I am sorry the facilities did not meet your expectations and for any distress that was caused.
