"Experience at PCH in Emergency"

About: Perth Children's Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My teenage son broke his finger at school earlier this month. He had to get a plaster cast put on. We're back recently in the waiting room, having had xrays, waiting for a new plaster cast. He mentioned that he hoped it was the same lady that did his cast on that night. (Around about 8.30pm-ish) When I asked him why, he said she was funny. She talked to him a lot and he liked her. He thought she was good.

Upon reflection, I thought she was good too. She had a good rapport with him and kept him at ease with the process. From recollection, she was somewhat junior? She had to get a senior nurse review the cast.

Anyway -his experience was positive and that's always a good thing at a children's hospital!

Dear TUKUAYL

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback about your son’s recent visit to the emergency department (ED) at Perth Children’s Hospital. It seems that laughter is the best medicine!

We are so pleased to hear that your son had such a positive experience and I have shared your feedback with the ED team. They were delighted to receive your reflections on the care they provided and appreciated your kind words.

Very best wishes to you and your son, we hope that he is recovering from his injury.

Yours sincerely,

Nicky Van Someren
