"Abortion complications"

About: Kununurra Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was seeking treatment after experiencing severe pain during a medical abortion at home. After calling healthline and being recommended to go to ED immediately I went down. The triage nurse and ED nurse were both incredible, sympathetic and helpful.

Unfortunately, I felt the Doctor was horrible. As I sat crying and uncontrollably tapping my leg due to pain, they said  I needed to calm down, to stop tapping my leg, to come on and just stop, and that I  should have expected this (in reference to pain). I told them I know what to expect but this is severe pain and not normal, through tears.

Instead of comforting me they seemed to be irritated. It was a horrible experience for myself who was experiencing excruciating pain and in an extremely vulnerable position. They left me for a while without offering any pain medication. Eventually thankfully the nurse came and checked on me and offered some pain relief.

Horrific experience and one I could not avoid by leaving and trying to seek medical attention elsewhere.

Just want to restate that I feel the nurses were and always are incredible here. The problem was with the doctor.
