"Cutting thumb tendon"

About: Hedland Health Campus / Emergency Department Royal Perth Hospital

(as the patient),

Managed to cut the tendon on my thumb! From the start at South Hedland hospital, patient care was apparent. Flights arrange pre booking on my situation beforehand at RPH was great. Staff on ward 6 ever attentive, keeping myself aware of up coming events.

Meals great at all times over the couple of days.

Surgery team great job, clean up metal filing within the thumb!

Fly book for the return trip clearly explained. Rehab through video conferencing always informed in advance, and on time. Local staff explained fully the do and don't, to now which I've recovered to the point it's hard to believe that I did such a stupid thing. Stoked with the out come due to all those concerned a big thank you.

Dear pavonz73

I was very sorry to read of your accident requiring transfer from South Hedland Hospital to Royal Perth Hospital (RPH). Accidents that occur outside of the metro area can be stressful for patients and their families and the immense effort that goes into seamlessly coordinating transport and appropriate clinical care during this critical time period is truly inspiring.

It is always heart-warming to read feedback such as yours and I have taken great delight in sharing your words of appreciation across the many areas involved in your healthcare journey at RPH. Your story assures me that the multidisciplinary team of people involved in caring for you are consistently providing high quality patient-centred care.

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I wish you all the best with your continuing recovery.

Kind regards

Ben Noteboom

Dear pavonz73,

Thank you for taking the time to post such positive feedback. I’m sorry to hear of your injury, but glad our teams at the Hedland Health Campus provided you with excellent health care on presentation and aftercare, and that you have fully recovered.

I will pass on your thanks to the teams, including the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme staff who coordinated your travel arrangements for your surgery at Royal Perth Hospital.

Warm regards
