"The incredible and exceptional staff"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department Bunbury Hospital / Sub-Acute Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My non verbal and non compliant adult son with Down Syndrome and Autism was brought to the ED after refusing to go and refusing ambulance transportation there for a serious leg infection. It had been extremely difficult to get him there and he had been refusing for days, and took a long time I  believe to even get him out of the carpark into the ED. Once inside he was very panicked and non cooperative.

The incredible and exceptional staff of both the ED and also the security team led by the amazing Ted were able to formulate a treatment plan involving 9 staff all working together to commence treatment which had seemed to be impossible. I do not know how they did it and how they even do their incredibly difficult jobs when providing such amazing and life saving care to people with disability especially when they do not understand the necessity of the treatment and are totally resisting.

I don’t know their names except for Amy and Millie (from xray) but all incredible and the exceptional Doctors too. We thank you all for the brilliant life saving work that you do each day with your amazing skills and empathy you are all absolutely fantastic human beings and I don’t know what we would have done without you.

Hi tauruszs57,

Thank you!

I am so glad we could help, and so privileged to work with such an awesome team - I'll be sure to thank them on your behalf.

I do hope that your son is ok and on the road to recovery.

Kind regards, and thanks for letting us know.

Steve
