I suffer from ulcerative colitis and have for a number of years. After fighting to get medication changed I am now having infusions every 8 weeks.
Now that I can have them in my local hospital with my regular GP I feel much more comfortable and don't have to take a full day off work (to visit another town and pay out of pocket in a private system because the wait times in the public is much too long, and I was too sick to wait.
I just wish people like me didn't have to plead with a system to get the care in a small town.
