(as a parent/guardian),

My son recently had surgery at Perth Children's Hospital, and we would just like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in his care.

The pre-surgery communication was excellent, which made the pre-surgery expectations and instructions clear for us to follow. On arrival to the hospital the volunteers were really helpful and all of the staff we dealt with were welcoming and friendly. The process of a volunteer showing me out of the anaesthetic area once my son had gone under, was a very welcome one.

We would especially like to thank nurses Emily and Maddie in the Intensive Care Unit, plus Helen, Louise, Nadine, Lana, Annie, Jessica (EN student) and Andrea on ward 2B. Our interactions with all members of the team we saw - medical staff, the acute pain service, dietician, cleaners, PSAs, ward clerks and nursing staff were positive and reassuring, there were just too many faces for us to remember all of the names.

As we don't live in Perth, we were supported by the Ronald McDonald House and found this resource invaluable during our 8-night stay. The PATS team who also helped us deserve a mention for the friendly approach and assistance they gave us.

The care my son received was excellent and we are very grateful for the compassion shown to us as a family. Thank you.
