I had my 2nd mastectomy at a regional hospital in October 2023 and my follow-up appointment with a Physiotherapist in November at Manjimup Hospital. The physiotherapist I saw was Amelia, I felt she was very knowledgeable and respectful in her approach.
After the initial consult, examination and stretches she cut a tubigrip with armholes and made a little vest. I had been given a tubigrip when I left the regional hospital but not with the armholes cut out so it was uncomfortable and rolled down when wearing.
The one Amelia made was so simple but helped with compression and comfort. I'd caught my drain bag on the hospital bed rail so I had swelling and quite a lot of pain which the vest helped with immensely. I have told my McGrath nurse about the famous service and vest. It was so much better than a bra with a soft form which had been recommended and I'd used on my first mastectomy. Thank you for the wonderful service Manjimup Hospital
