I wanted to highlight the incredible impact being part of the MGP at KEMH for the birth of my second child had. I felt so supported throughout my pregnancy, to have a known midwife helping me through. I cannot imagine being able to achieve my VBAC without this program, which was a life changing experience. The knowledge of Jascinta and Eden from MGP 4/5 pre, during and post birth in the follow up home visits was so helpful, they knew the answers to every question I had and did an amazing job of coming alongside me to help me feel equipped for early motherhood.
My hope is that every woman who wants it would have access to this amazing continuity of care, it makes all the difference with the positivity I feel towards my birth experience which has a life long impact.
I also want to acknowledge Maddy who was a midwife during my inpatient stay at KEMH, she went over and above to get to know me and what mattered to me. She spent time with and really helped me to feel heard and supported. I know how busy the midwives and nurses are at the hospital and this really made a big difference to me the care she put in.
