I have been attending Osbourne Park Hospital for my antenatal care. I am in a new pilot program MAPS program which I have been thoroughly impressed with. My midwife keeps in touch via text, which is my preferred communication with work commitments, making it easy to communicate. She has reassured me I can get in touch anytime.
I felt changes in movements of my baby and text my allocated midwife in the evening, she replied almost immediately and advised to contact urgent care. Urgent care advised me to come in straight away for a check up. All was well with my baby in the end but all the midwife's and doctors made me feel validated and provided reassurance I had done the right thing my phoning up and going in for a check up.
I feel very safe and well supported during my first pregnancy and confident with my decision to go public. I have also started attending online antenatal classes (free) which have been very informative. Thank you OPH team and Erin (MAPS midwife).
