"Meals"

About: Mount Beauty Hospital

(as the patient),

I was given chicken mornay recently, which had more cauliflower than chicken or mornay in it. I recall it was watery, well over cooked and quite inedible.

More recently for lunch I again had chicken and vegetables. The chicken with cranberry sauce was lovely, however, once again the vegetables were well over cooked.

I have been in and out of Mt Beauty Hospital and for the last year or so I feel the food has declined in quality and therefore I feel compelled to write this.

Every night I had to ask for sandwiches at tea time because I feel the hot (and I use the word loosely) meal was inedible.

I am really sad that as a patient and supporter of this hospital which, in my opinion, has amazing staff has been let down by the food.

Hello moonwp98,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your food experience with Alpine Health. It is important to us to receive this feedback.

As a class one food facility, we must cook all our menu items, including vegetables to above 75C to ensure our food is safe to eat. This is why some of our meals appear overcooked. However, it is still very important to us to provide appetising food to our patients and I'm sorry about your experience.

I will be discussing this feedback with the cooks and kitchen staff at Mount Beauty and will remind them about the importance of providing appetising hot meals to our patients.

Again, thank you for providing this feedback.

Kind Regards

Lisa Lucey

Essential Services Coordinator
