"Wonthaggi & Hub"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Integrated Care Centre (L.Rigby Centre)

(as the patient),

Ovarian cancer, tumor removed treatment of chemo started I was made to feel an important person, being treated with consideration & patience shown continually as the years rolled on.

I took notice how they gave the same curtesy to each & every patient. They would answer any questions people asked or there were lots of times sit & talk to elderly patients that weren't coping with their own care at home & would organise the right person to help. The chemist nurse working there is always explaining what your drug does & how important it is to follow instructions. Any problem they get a doctor to come to the chemo room, my blood pressure would be too high, they are so thorough. I think they all should get medals for dedication.

Dear pyxisgc57,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback which we will pass on. The team at the Integrated Cancer Centre will be really chuffed to read this, and deservedly so - they care deeply about what they do and, whilst I am somewhat biased, I also think they are a great team doing a great job, in what can be, very tough circumstances for the patients and families. It sounds like you have had quite a personal journey, whilst also witnessing the often-tricky journey of others. I hope you are doing ok. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience - your feedback is better than any medal I could give them. Kindest Thoughts, Jan.
