"Chest pain and breathing problems"

About: Bundaberg Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Took my spouse up to emergency to sit in the waiting room for 4 hours waiting for a bed was ridiculous. My spouse was having chest pain and I told the triage nurse it was getting worse. We just sat there and they weren’t again checked out. We then finally got called in to be left on the bed for quite some time. Bloods were taken about 3 hours later then ct scan done.

We were in the emergency for 12 hours and still have no answers. My spouse was not offered food or water. I recall the cubicle we were in had rubbish all over the floor. I felt the night staff spoke to the patients like they were rubbish and not looking after them. My spouse had their cannula taken out roughly like rip out. Nurse put a Bandaid on it. Once my spouse got up they were bleeding. So instead of taking it off and cleaning it up the nurse stuck a large folded up dressing in it and bandage and sent my spouse off. Instead of the doctor telling us the results they sent them to the doctor.
