I was previously referred to another hospital in which they did not listen to my requests or speak to me with respect and weren’t helpful. I was then referred to KEMH with the Aboriginal MGP team.
Mel made me feel like I was family. I was able to call and message with any issues I had. My baby was below the 3rd percentile for the entire pregnancy which came with its own challenges. Mel worked with me weekly and sometimes a couple times a week to ensure bub and I were safe. She was basically on call for this tiny one from 28weeks. When it finally came around to our induction at 37 weeks; Mel and the team really pulled through and listened to me and what I wanted and stood by all my choices. They visited me almost everyday I was in hospital and would call and check up on me and bub.
