"Self-referral and assessment"

I am in shock, but in a good way, with the way Mind and Kwelena Step Up Step Down have dealt with me so far.

I put in a self referral to Mind for Kwelena recently as I am becoming unwell and need to stop the downward spiral. They received the referral the following morning, arranged an assessment for that afternoon and I was due to go in to Kwelena the next day. Not only that, I admitted to the nurse I had been off some of my medication. They have already consulted with their psychiatrist who has already sent a prescription to another hospital's pharmacy for me to obtain my medication before I go into Kwelena as I can't just resume at the hefty dose I was taking before I went off them, and they will titrate me at Kwelena starting at a low dose. They were so lovely at the assessment and I was able to talk truthfully about what has been happening for me. 

If I had any doubt about going in to Kwelena for another admission, I don't now! The staff are amazing! They treat individuals with respect and care.
