My child in law was taken by ambulance to the emergency department after being unable to eat appropriately for a number of days. They presented with persistent vomiting and high heart rate. When they arrived at the hospital they were made to wait on a chair for 10 hours. The only triage was their blood pressure taken twice.
They went home and presented to the hospital the next day with continued symptoms. At the time of writing this, they have had no food for over 24 hours and is currently still waiting in the waiting room after another 13 hours.
They have had a blood test done with no results after 8 hours. No food, no water and, in my opinion, certainly no care!
