"My parent in hospital for treatment of urinary infection"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital

(as a relative),

My parent was admitted from a local hospital to POW suffering from a urinary infection that was also causing delirium. They are in their 90's.

The entire staff I dealt with were so kind, professional and helpful.

One day my parent had a very bad day and was terribly upset, which in turn made me very upset as well. One of the staff at the front desk noticed that I wasn’t ok and she was so kind and took time out to chat things through with me. Her name was Cindy. She even took the time to later check on me to make sure that I was ok. Gave me the biggest hugs. Just what I needed.

The only thing that I have an issue with is that on transferring my parent back to the initial hospital, I discovered that both sets of their false teeth had gone missing. My parent had been unable to wear them as they had very bad mouth ulcers and thrush in their mouth. They had been in a plastic container that I had taken from home to store them in. They had been sitting on their bedside table. I don’t know what can happen to get them some new dentures as these last ones my parent got through a grant from the dental hospital. Any advice would be helpful.

My parent will be unable to eat properly without their dentures.
