Felt neglected and abused by Doctor in Bunbury ED recently. I came in with heat stroke and my brain was overheating as I have no cooling system in my home. I was advised by the Nurse that the Doctor wanted to give me an ECG and did not advise me why? Only 20 mins had passed between my oxygen being taken and no one in waiting area. I felt the Doctor just ignored me and assumed by my medications that I am a drug addict, but I am not.
I refused the ECG because I had not even seen the Doctor. Then whilst I was lying in ED waiting room in pain, I recall the head Doctor was chatting to other staff for over 15 minutes about their private life. I felt ignored, angry and not being listened to. I believe they could have at least given me an ice pack to cool my body down. I have been suffering from this for months and my GP is unavailable until sometime soon. I have trauma about going to hospital due to past history with hospitals and this experience has not helped.
