I've been receiving Meals on Wheels, 3 days a week for approx 6 mths, due to a physical illness. I rarely eat the whole main meal because I feel it isn't very nice. The soups are ok until what they call tomato soup, that I believe is more like tomato relish & awful. In my opinion, deserts are ok when they aren't apple crumble, which is mainly what we get. I think the veges are boiled too long & have no goodness left in them.
I felt the meals were much better when I've used the service in the past. But that was when our meals were made fresh in another hospital's kitchen. The kitchen was then refurbished but meals were now being cooked in Bright Hospital, frozen & driven an hour over the mountain to Mt Beauty. We pay for this service because we need it. I feel it's just not good enough. As for the volunteer M.O.W. deliverers, I think they are all wonderful.
