"Care after cycling accident"

About: Albany Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was involved in a cycling accident on a weekend morning. It required me to be taken to Albany Regional Hospital, A & E. I was attended to by a nurse called Milla, a doctor called Sam, an orderly whose name I couldn’t discern and Heinrich who undertook the CAT scan. In each interaction and with each of these staff members I felt cared for, there was a kindliness together with their competency which helped me enormously in ameliorating the effects of shock as well as assessing the extent of injury and then addressing this.

Dear Appreciative User,

Thank you so much for your kind words. We have shared your story with Milla, Sam and Heinrich, as well as the ED, hospital and regional leadership teams.

We always aim to deliver safe and high quality care combined with kindness so it’s really great to hear that we are hitting that mark.

I hope you are recovering well from your cycling accident and still getting out and about.

Best wishes

Wendy McKinley

Thank you Wendy for your kind wishes and for passing on my thanks to the care team who looked after me. I was only sorry I couldn’t make out the name of the orderly who wheeled me down to the CAT scan facility so I do hope my message of thanks might also reach him. I hope too that you are receiving all the resources you need to undertake the work you do!
