"Maternity care"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Excellent care provided by maternity ward during my recent stay. Was concerned about my ability to care for my newborn overnight without my partner there but I felt the staff were very attentive and didn't make me feel like a bother when I called for assistance.

Please consider upgrading visitor chair in room to a comfortable chair (semi reclined with arms or high back chair with arms) suitable for mums to sit out of bed and feed in and partners to sit for extended periods of time holding bub whilst mum gets some rest.

Dear Day patient,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback about the care you received during your stay in the Maternity department. Having a new bub and developing all the skills required, especially overnight without your partner, can be quite a daunting experience and I am glad that the team was able to provide you with the support and care you required during this time.

I know that some of the chairs in the department can be uncomfortable, and apologies that the chair you used was one of those. We are currently in the process of purchasing new recliners for some rooms. The nursery has recently been upgraded about 6 months ago and we are now looking at the chairs in the birthsuite, with the postnatal rooms planned for later in the year.

I wish you and your family well, and hope you have settled in at home.

Katrina
