At the time of writing this, I’m here in a single room at the Knox Private Hospital in Melbourne.
The powers that be decided to ask private practitioners to care for some of the public patients on the never-ending waiting list for procedures and I feel like I’ve won the lottery.
In a nutshell, I’m a retired pensioner who became so constipated I wound up with an inguinal hernia... not life-threatening, but uncomfortable and time-consuming.
My lovely gp referred me to surgeon here at Knox Private, and in short order I had an appointment with one of the most charming, warm and approachable practitioner I have had the privilege of meeting.
Mr Sumeet is a General Surgeon here at Knox. He confirmed the diagnosis of inguinal hernia, and arranged a time for surgical repair.
And here I am, with two tiny holes in my tummy, a surprisingly small degree of pain, and the promise of a complete recovery in a few weeks of being careful.
My overnight stay here has been very pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are brand new and tasteful, and I can’t wait for the the bacon and eggs in the morning (?)
I feel blessed to have this standard of care, and I will sing the praises on the Australian health care system to the heavens.
"Excellent standard of care at Knox Private Hospital"
