"Treatment of parent"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Recently one afternoon I had a call from my parent's GP, they had received their blood tests results and told me to take my parent to the emergency room as their hemoglobins were extremely low. I took them in the afternoon.

I explained to the hospital staff about what the GP had said, I informed them that my parent was also a cancer patient going through chemo and that they has had heart failure and fluid on their lungs recently, my parent is in their 80s.

It took till late night to get them in a bed. I felt the amount of people that came and went while we waited was ridiculous, I understand that this is an emergency room but I felt that this was this not an emergency. My parent spent 4 nights in hospital after that and two lots of blood transfusions. I believe something surely needs to change here.
