I recently gave birth to my third child at Broome hospital. I was under the care of the Midwifery Group Practice, an amazing program which I believe the women of Broome are lucky to have access too.
My birth experience didn’t quite go as smoothly as hoped but I felt the incredible care of MGP midwives Alyce, Yvonne and Jo ensured I was well looked after during my delivery and postpartum. I am so grateful for the empathy and compassion that they showed my husband and I.
I had a three day stay in hospital where I was so impressed with the care provided to my baby and I by the midwives on the maternity ward. Pam and Sharon in particular were so lovely and supportive when I was coming to terms with a harder recovery period than anticipated. I would like to say a Big thank you also to Robyn, Erin and Georgia.
I hope the MGP at Broome continues to get the support that it needs, this is my third birth in a regional town but the first town to have an MGP and I found it makes such a positive difference to pregnancy and postnatal care.
