Recently I injured myself and went to St George with a cut to my hand. I was then transferred directly to Sydney eye hospital to the hand clinic the following morning, it was looked at after a few hours and then I was told I couldn’t get surgery that day because they were too busy. I was told to come in the next day, then I was told they were too busy that day and then same thing happened the day after that. I was told to come in the following day (4 days after injury), so I went in mid-morning and then waited 8 hours and then told I had to go home.
I’m just really concerned because I cut through the tendons, and everything online says it needs to be fixed within 5 to 7 days. At the time of writing this, tomorrow will be 6 days. I just want to make sure I get the function back in my hand because I need it for work. I do want to say the staff I have seen have been great and really apologetic, but they just don’t have the theatres. I feel it’s not a reflection on them.
