"Macula Research Group - Clinical Trials Unit"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

I started 2021 with the clinical trial for Wet AMD. The first time I came I was terrified of injections. But when I met the MRG team they instantly made me feel so comfortable and was happy with the service and care. Then I was offered to participate in the extension part of the trial which was another year and I immediately thought 'why not?!' I was so happy with the whole teams service and was so happy on how kind everyone was at every visit. It felt like family and 'home'. I would highly recommend anyone that is interested to participate in the clinical trials. I am very happy with the new treatment that helped improve my eye sight.

Dear beidcg37

Thank you very much on your very positive assessment of the MRG CRU. We are particularly proud of the research team. Introducing new treatments on the same day that people are told they have a potentially blinding disease is a delicate process. But our patients can have excellent outcomes through the clinical trials unit if this is done well. We are fortunate in having such sensitive and experienced staff.

The most rewarding experience for our team, is hearing from you that the treatment has improved your eyesight.

Kind regards

Dr Pauline Rumma
