I had a severe eye infection and went to Emergency at Sydney Eye Hospital late afternoon. Not too many in the waiting room so moved through the various stages efficiently but recommend you take a book to read, as the phone charging machine didn't work for my iPhone and it became a long night because of the emergency intravenous treatment (which worked a treat).
Staff was mostly pleasant; nurses were practical and efficient. I believe a little more skill development on inserting cannulas would be a worthwhile nurse training session.
I think Dr Nigel gets the gold medal for carefully and painlessly putting in the cannula for the antibiotics and Dr Niko and Dr Nigel both gave excellent information and explanations and answered questions.
Our family very successfully used the Hand Clinic before, and the Sexual Health Clinic has helped friends. I feel those of us who work in the city are very fortunate to have a small, little-known hospital so close.
