"MGP 1 - FBC"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I recently went through my pregnancy with  MGP 1. Every appointment, I was treated with respect & kindness. My midwife was a wealth of knowledge who ensured I felt informed & supported with every decision. Due to complications I unfortunately had to deliver in the main hospital. Every member of staff I met from MFAU, labour ward, ASCU & ward 5 were kind, understanding, explained everything & attempted to give me a birth as close to my birth plan whilst being safe. The room was calm and everyone was quietly working away. I felt safe. I couldn’t imagine delivering any other way or going through a pregnancy with any other model.

Dear Happy90,

Thank you so much for reaching out to share your experience with the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) 1 at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). It must have been challenging to have complications arise and see your plans change, and it is very reassuring to hear that the care you received across the entirety of your labour and birth journey was so supportive despite these challenges. We’ll be sure to pass on your gratitude to Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit (MFAU), labour ward, Adult Special Care Unit (ASCU) and ward 5.

Thanks again for reaching out - I hope you and your little one are doing well.

Take care,
Delaney
