I was admitted directly to the acute medical ward at royal perth hospital. Immediately from arrival nurses could not find my paperwork or what room/bed I was ment to be in. It was traumatic from there on, i was left without information on what my condition was, I was left for 24hours without a name band for identification meaning no nurses could administer medications or blood tests.
I raised the issue with the ward shift manager who I felt completely degraded me by saying there are people dying so I need to get over it and be patient. After 26 hours I had the doctor come in and explained my condition in more detail and organised my name band. I requested a physiologist on arrival which I had still not seen (28 hours since asking)
"Missing paperwork, no name band and long wait time"
