My toddler has been referred to neurosurgery for a cyst on their spinal cord which is stopping them from walking. Despite the referral being urgent it has sat there for 2 and a half weeks without being looked at. Every time i phone they claim to have lost the referral so the whole process starts again. My toddler cannot walk because of this and it is affecting their quality of life. I am feeling very let down by our health system and by the neurosurgery department at Perth Childrens Hospital. What is the point of an urgent referral if no one seemingly actions it?
