I would like to say a huge thank you to all staff that looked after me when I was admitted for orthopaedic surgery on as well as the pre-op clinic nurse whom I had received a phone call from 2 months previously. Everyone I met from the volunteers to surgeons were polite, friendly and professional. I felt listened to and time was given for me to ask questions with clear explanations given. I felt quite nervous about my surgery but everyone was so kind that my anxieties eased and I felt safe and in good hands. I had had problems with previous general anaesthetics so this was a concern to me, but I was able to choose to have a block and sedation instead which was a huge weight off my mind. Post-operatively, I was able to call my husband from Recovery which both of us were very grateful for. The staff on the Surgical Short Stay Unit were all lovely, and gave me analgesia and antiemetics promptly when I needed them. Another observation is that everyone seemed to get on well and work well with one another. Thank you to all staff for the exemplary care I received.
