I believe the care provided by the staff at Bunbury RH, specifically on the maternity ward deserves to be formally acknowledged. We where transferred to Bunbury 36 hours postpartum due to baby needing additional support in the nursery (NICU) and stayed 2 nights.
- The NICU nurses/midwives Nyrie, Sumi & Hannah were attentive to our needs and baby's needs and ensured we were informed in all decisions. They made us feel comfortable, reassured and cared for.
- The midwives on the maternity ward: Laura, Louise, Kris to name some where also wonderful, I felt my pain was managed well, I was informed with any monitoring or tests required postpartum and provided support during the night when my husband was not able to be with us. I feel all midwives during our stay deserve to be recognised (we are unable to recall any other names).
I was cared for by several obstetricians during our 2 night stay, and all provided a great level of care - ensuring once again, I was comfortable in my recovery from having a c-section.
Baby was cared for by several paediatricians during his stay in the NICU, and before being discharged - and this level of care was attentive and kind.
Lastly, the lactation consultant - Harriet was outstanding. She ensured that we were confident and comfortable with the initial stages of breastfeeding, and advocated to have baby returned to the maternity ward as soon as medically possible.
The meals provided by support staff where also nice, and plentiful.
We can't thank you all enough!
