About: Swan Hill District Health Medical Centre

(as the patient),

I've felt really under the weather with several symptoms. I had an extensive round of blood tests and was given a result which I know is treatable - an underactive thyroid. My parent also has this but it's called Hashimoto's.

The doctor sent me for another round of blood tests. Three days later I hadn't heard a peep regarding the results so I rang and got told there was no further action required. I was astounded as I'm feeling terrible and this is affecting my everyday life. I get doctors are busy but I felt dismissed. Why send me for further investigation if there's no follow up anyway? Doctors shouldn't leave people hanging, wondering when there's clearly something going on like my test showed. In my opinion, this practice needs improvement I'm afraid.
