Cut my finger and two weeks later woke to it swollen, throbbing and looking infected and I felt dizzy.
Went to Emergency Presented at ED knowing this was the Hand Hospital as a friend had had similar and advised not to ignore it. Staff were on it straight away, infection confirmed and IV antibiotics given, then saw a hand specialist.
Staff were brilliant, quick to respond and diagnose and put in IV antibiotics immediately. Hand unit specialists came down to assess and staff were so professional, caring and calm (there was a difficult patient next to me). Thank you to all, noting Dr B, Dr D and RN Sharon for their outstanding professionalism. Follow up provided by the Hand Clinic, (thanks Ahmed) and again staff so professional in their communication and care.
The staff were sensational from start to finish over hours from the reception on arrival, to the nurses checking vitals and the staff specialist putting in IV and at end of day when hand specialist Ahmed, came down from Hand Clinic.
