In my opinion, the psychiatric wards in both Box Hill and Maroondah hospitals are in an extreme state of disrepair and neglect, posing a serious risk to the mental health and well being of the patients being treated there.
I believe the facilities are extremely outdated, poorly maintained, and in urgent need of repairs.
The Doctors and nurses I've seen are wonderful, this must put them under great strain.
Possibly the cleaners could pick up their game a little.
In my experience, the patients are not receiving proper care and support they need in order to recover and improve their mental health, due to the environment. further challenging the conditions in which these vulnerable individuals find themselves in .
1. The toilet are was covered in urine.
2. The air-conditioning ducts on the ceiling were totally clogged with dust
3. The seating was covered in filthy covers
4. There were food containers with old food on the floor that had mould in it.
5. The carpets were filthy
6. Shall I continue?
I believe it is imperative that these issues are immediately addressed to ensure the safety and mental well being of the patients in the psychiatric ward.
The Government promised that the Maroondah Hospital was to be upgraded and renamed queen Elizabeth 2 , is this happening?
