"Alcohol Problems"

About: Nana Muru AOD Program for Young People - Nowra (Lives Lived Well)

(as a service user),

I've had ongoing alcohol problems for the last 15 years. I've has AVOs put on me over time for having abusive language towards my family.

I then attended watershed program for around three weeks which I feel as though helped me a little bit but I've since been continuing my journey by doing psychology sessions, taking my anti-depressants. In recent times I've had my anti depressants adjusted, and nearly completed the Nana Muru day program. I've taken away some coping mechanisms, realising that it is not easy coping at times due to legal problem's but it is good I can talk to someone through nana Muru when I need and I have information sheets that I can refer to when I am struggling and I will continue gaining support when I take part in the aftercare program.

Dear junefx89,

Thanks for sharing your story. It's not easy seeking treatment or changing behaviours but it sounds like you are making a change!

The main thing is that you did seek treatment and sounds like you have taken the tools you have been given to improve things in your life.

It's great to hear that Watershed was helpful, and that the team at Nana Muru are there to help you. They are always just a phone call away so if you need support, call them.

All the best for the aftercare program and keep up the great work.

Kind regards,

Lara
