A few months ago weeks ago I was admitted I had cancer melanoma and lesions in my spinal cord which made me paralysed from the waist down. I was admitted to sir Charles Gairdner hospital and I agreed to being admitted as a private patient.
I was put in a room with 6 other people. While I was there, I heard another patient coughing a lot. So I said to the staff member, they sound like they have covid, do they have it? And the staff member said no no they don't.
Well anyway, a few days later I get transferred to Osbourne Park hospital and they diagnose me with covid. So I get put into a private room for a week, and then after that I get moved into a shared room again.
My issue is, I was admitted as a private patient so why didn’t I get a private room? The only time I ever got a private room was when I had covid. I only said to go through as a private patient to help the hospital and also so I could have a private room, but I didn’t even get one. I also tried to speak with the coordinator over the phone but because of their heavy accent I couldn’t understand a word they were saying!
