"Compliance with the ACSQHC Standards"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department Bunbury Hospital / Medical Ward

(as a relative),

My husband with neurological disease was taken to Bunbury hospital mid morning by ambulance who staff asked appropriate questions and took the relevant observations and found the patient to have a high temperature and was definitely unwell. I followed the ambulance and on arrival I was ushered through to the Emergency Department to find my husband was already in the ED (no ambulance ramping) and the doctor and nurses had commenced taking observations and specimens and interviewed me to get more information. Appropriate treatment was commenced promptly and staff ensured that they gave the patient his usual medication on time. The staff communicated regularly with my husband and I to keep us informed and included in the the test results and proposed treatment.

Overnight my husband was transferred to the medical ward and the excellent patient care and communication continued. Every relevant allied health care professional was advised that he was in the hospital and they all promptly assessed his status communicated with me his caregiver and. Communicated with their colleagues in service providers who care for my husband. Based on my experience I believe the Bunbury community can rest assured that the healthcare provided at our local hospital is meeting current standards.
