"Untimely Allied Health Professionals"

About: Narrogin Health Service

(as the patient),

In general, apart from Surgeons, Doctors & Nurses, I believe any Allied Health Professionals should not engage with patients while they are having a meal. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner; unless it is urgent.

Felt rushed to really enjoy any of the delicious meals ..... absolutely wonderful meals. Wouldn't think you were eating great meals while in hospital. (Thank you Narrogin ..... Do you have a Cook Book!?)

Dear conditionerzy93

Thank you for taking the time to post to Care Opinion. Please accept my apologies for not being given time to enjoy the delicious meals provided by the Narrogin kitchen. Allied health treatments are usually scheduled so as not to clash with mealtimes. I would encourage you to feel comfortable to request a clinician to return after you have finished your meal unless it is urgent.

It will give me great pleasure to share your compliments with the Narrogin kitchen staff, I know they will be delighted and encouraged to receive it.

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards,

Jenny Menasse

Update posted by conditionerzy93 (the patient)

Thank You for your prompt, highly satisfactory response Jenny.

Even though 5-10min was requested to complete the meal ..... they didn't "wait" as carried on with the initial assessment ..... I believe their visit wasn't urgent.

Furthermore, more concerning ..... there were no further visits over the remaining 5 day stay & have had no contact since being discharged around a week ago.

I've been house bound, expecting some sort of OT assessment report, with mobile no. in service ..... but nothing. I did explain to the OTs when in Hospital my living situation inc. possibly requiring aids to assist myself in the home; like indoor wall rails down passageway, rails in bathroom & toilet.

I'm not that old; am assuming for my mobility balance needs & concerns, I will have to source the appropriate tradesmen & funds myself.

Looking for recommendations as to what opportunity there may be for what I require, with any appropriate subsidy.
