I presented to the Emergency Department of Harvey Hospital when my asthma had become uncontrollable, after taking the normal prescription preventative medication I had been using for many years.
Check-in was immediate, and I was assisted by Amber who was on duty, along with Dr. Sheryl. I owe a depth of gratitude to these wonderful professionals, without which I may not have regained my breathing restored, so promptly. This occasion would have been one of the worst asthma attacks I have ever experienced in my lifetime!.
After initial treatment, followed by a subsequent transfer to the General Ward, I was continually monitored and treated every two hours for a couple of days.
Blood tests and an x-ray were also taken as a precaution for any underlying remaining problems – which fortunately all came back clear. I was discharged at noon on the following day after being thoroughly checked by Dr. W.
Have now returned to my normal full health.
I must accept some personal responsibility for taking the Nebaliser Asthma Preventitive Medication, which had a well expired ‘use by’ date exceeding 11 months!. A valuable lesson learned, and this information has since been passed on to known asthma sufferers in my group, plus other adults and children who I know suffer from this common allergy.
Please pass on my sincere appreciation to the Emergency Department personnel, General Ward Members and Caterers – all part of a united team at Harvey Hospital.
The care and compassion shown by all staff, in my opinion, was 10 out of 10, for which I am forever grateful for.
Kindest regards,
