About: Royal Hospital for Women

(as the patient),

I found out who the CEO is- and they never put you through to CEO- but I have to contact them to tell them.

I was in the Royal Women’s Hospital Randwick for 7 days earlier this month. I was actually under a case consultant King Man  senior MO and the principal Charmaine, those two were the main two.

The fact is the care was absolutely outstanding, it was excellent. It didn’t matter that I was a public patient- there was no “you shut up, you’re just a public patient”. It was like I was respected.

I had 7 procedures in the 1 operation over 4 hours and I’m walking 5 days later and off pain meds straight away. I was cut right down the middle during surgery and I only have 1 stitch, the rest are on the inside. The way I was treated was outstanding from that team, they call themselves the WANG team and that team needs to be really congratulated.

That’s why the CEO will hear from me, they need to know the excellence of this team that looks after me. I lost nearly a litre of blood and the care and compassion that I received and the excellence of the team; words fail me when I try to describe them. I was seen every day by a surgeon and also I have chronic IBS so I needed to be near a loo because the medication bungs you up and they put me in a room with two beds and I’m the only one in there.

When I was in post operative care and there was a junior nurse Chris, he looked after me for three days when I couldn’t even walk. I had 3 drips on each arm and he looked after me but the excellence of team WANG they just went above and beyond, no other hospital has treated me like that.

They should be congratulated.
