My relative was admitted during the week. Their care from admission to the following 24 hours was great. Communication between patient, family and staff could not be faltered.
Unfortunately the following day was an absolute disaster. The new Doctor that took over completely changed the plan set in place. They wanted to take my relative off their anti coagulates, even though they have a pacemaker and are under a specialist at Cabrini. I fear that if I didn’t have a medical background and spoke up things may have been catastrophic.
I recall I was accused of not having my relative's pacemaker checked (it was done a few months ago and handed over to the admitting the previous day).
Unfortunately, my very elderly relative, feels they were bullied by the Dr and treated with no respect. GSHS has always been a hospital that our family has been proud of, we hope that this type of care does not continue. We are very happy with the care given by the wonderful nursing and hotel service staff, they need to be commended for their dedication and friendly attitude.
