I was lucky enough to get into MGP for the second time, for my third birth. Midwives Paula and Emma were knowledgeable and amazing throughout.
My gestational diabetes diagnosis was a shock but dealt with very promptly by the nutrition team. I felt supported and didn’t need insulin, remained diet controlled.
I went into labour spontaneously at 37 weeks 3 days, and delivered about 3 hours after arriving in hospital. My midwife was respectful of our wishes, and didn’t push anything on us. I was able to birth a beautiful girl using only the gas and air, and my TENS machine.
The obstetric team checked bubs sugars very diligently, and requested we stay for 2 nights, 3 days, as they wanted to be 100% sure bub was feeding well. I did not feel rushed at all, and had a private room the whole time.
Post partum visits at home over the next 7 days were much appreciated, and hire of the hospital breast pump for 2 weeks was invaluable to establish breast feeding. Amazing experience and I thank all the staff at KEMH for their wonderful care and attention
"2nd positive experience with MGP4"
