"Teenage Daughter with Chest Pains"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

A month or so ago now my daughter presented to Kalgoorlie Health Campus with chest pains, an ache down her arm and tingly fingers. She was quickly taken in to ED and by the time I has arrived they had given her an ECG and she was getting bloods taken.

The nurses were kind and considerate and their communication towards my daughter was great to see.

After all her tests had been run and we were just waiting to see if her symptoms would subside the ED doctor came in and explained they did not find anything on the ECG or the bloods, however they still wanted to ultrasound her lungs to rule out anything else. He was very conscious of my daughter being a young woman and was careful not to embarrass her during the ultrasound on her upper chest.

Although we left with no answers to the cause of the pain, we left feeling as though everything that needed to be done was done.

Thanks ED Team.

Dear sierracc88

Thank you so much for reaching out to tell us about the experience of both yourself and your daughter at out Emergency Department recently. I am so happy to hear that she was treated thoroughly as well as with compassion and respect. I will be sure to share your story with our staff to show them how valued the care they provide is by their community.

I hope your daughter is now feeling and better please don’t hesitate to come back to ED at any time if she has any reoccurrence of acute symptoms or illness.

Kind regards,

Alicia
